Morgan Ågren
Morgan Ågren has been a drummer since the age of four and a Grammy winning musician on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Sweden in 1967, Ågren was spotted as an outstanding talent at a young age as he began performing publicly aged seven, and eventually joined forces with ten year old blind keyboardist Mats Oberg in 1981. In 1988, Morgan and Mats were invited to play with Frank Zappa for a few different projects in the US, just before Zappa passed away.
Morgan Ågren
While some of the Zappa influence remains, Morgan and Mats have long since found their own voices, and formed a stable band which has amazed audiences across the world. With superb playing ability, the Mats/Morgan band is a well-honed, cohesive unit, arriving at its own voice in progressive jazz rock. Morgan has climbed the readers polls in various drum magazines recently, and in 2010 was voted no.1 in the 'fusion' category. Morgan has also played with Steve Vai, Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal, Tony Iommi and many more. Watch him perform on the LDS Main Stage at 5pm on Saturday 10th November.
